Extend your team … by using ours.
- Trying to figure out which products to reformulate first?
- Need some fresh thinking on your innovation pipeline?
- Considering expansion into a new category?
These are common themes we hear in dialogues with our customers as we discuss their next food or beverage project. And we believe it’s our holistic approach to innovation that can provide you with a competitive edge. We serve as your creative ideas lab – a place where you can review industry trends, preview our latest ingredient innovation and be inspired by a variety of finished product concepts. ‘We have so much knowledge across different market segments, both in the US and globally, that we are able to provide new insights and confirm things with data that our customers have hunches about’, says Brad Hartsock, North American Territory Manager. ‘With extensive research and prototyping done for you, we can also accelerate your development process while helping you manage expenses’.
As part of the SPLENDA® Sucralose PLUS PROGRAMME, our Innovation Workshops offer customers access to the full breadth of Tate & Lyle’s expertise and resources at any stage of product development.
The process begins with a briefing session to understand the scope and timing of the customers’ needs on a particular initiative. Next, we conduct brainstorming with cross-functional team members from Tate & Lyle. ‘Having a lot of different people in the discussion from our side – marketing, culinary, applications, tech service, sales – provides different perspectives on different projects and is a big component of successful innovation’, says Hartsock.
As ingredient experts, our technical service team is a uniquely talented group. But they also serve as the conduit between customers and other Tate & Lyle teams. ‘Our purpose is to be the link, the channel of information’, says Joni Simms, Director, Technical Service. ‘We work closely with our customers, and when appropriate, make those connections and link them to other teams and resources we have here at Tate & Lyle to help them formulate better and do things faster’.
The final workshop is a collaborative interface with the customer at either their location or one of ours. ‘More and more companies are seeing the benefits of relying on their supplier and that there’s oftentimes opportunity to gain more detailed knowledge of ingredients if they use those resources available to them’, says Hartsock. ‘At the end of the workshop, we come away with a follow-up plan dedicated to turning your ideas into commercial success’.
