Our quality and safety standards – your peace of mind
The superior test results that SPLENDA® Sucralose achieves come from continual innovation and dedication to excellence. We employ 50 in-process checkpoints and over 200 analyses per day to guarantee great sweet taste and complete purity, and we will not ship any product that does not pass our zero-defect policy. Your consumers have high standards – we’re committed to helping you exceed them.
Working with Tate & Lyle, you can expect the very best – above all, in the quality of our products.
We have quality-control gateways at our intake of corn, sugar, hydrocolloids and emulsifiers, and we accept nothing less than the best. We invest in traceability programmes, run strict supplier-selection procedures and undertake regular supplier audits.
We carry out multiple in-process quality checks on our manufacturing lines to ensure that processes are running optimally, before the final quality check.
Our tests are rigorous and thorough to ensure that we meet the purity, taste and functionality standards you expect of us, and that we have delivered to your product specifications. Our goal is to 'get it right the first time’, and with this in mind, our plants adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as defined by the US Food and Drug Administration, the European Union and the World Health Organisation.
Audits, both internal and external, are a key factor in ensuring that our facilities meet GMP guidelines.
In line with guidelines of the Global Food Safety Initiative – a collaboration between the world’s leading food-safety experts – each of our facilities has an annual third-party audit conducted by globally recognised vendors. Our own Global Quality and Food Safety team also carries out an annual audit at each facility.
Depending on where our facility is located, we offer customers certification from the British Retail Consortium, GMA-SAFE or International Food Standards.
Creating enduringly successful ingredients for customers is as much about understanding manufacturing as it is about the science of an ingredient.
With well over a century of expertise in making ingredients, we know manufacturing inside out and around the world. Our large-scale, ultra-efficient plants turn raw materials such as corn into products and ingredients to meet the needs of our customers and their brands.
We’re not a one-size-fits-all facility, however. We often work in partnership with customers, developing bespoke technologies and processes to create products tailored to their needs.
The right product in the right place at the right time, and being a pleasure to work with – that’s our aim in every customer engagement.
Whilst every customer is unique, our relationships are characterised by four simple criteria:
• On time
• In full
• No billing errors
• No cause for complaint
You may never notice the supply chain team that’s behind the customer service agent – and that’s as it should be. It means we have taken your order and delivered it just as you wanted it.
